Pics and Report of Indo-Thai PR Round Table

A Brief Report on Indo-Thai Public Relations Round Table Conference
Indo-Thai Public Relations Round Table conference was conducted by Public Relations Society of India on the theme Communication Strategies for Travel and Tourism. This six day round table was attended by 55 PRSI members and representative from India. Total 5 presentation were given from Indian participants and one presentation from Rajasthan.

The opening ceremony was conducted in the Pattaya City of Thailand. The ceremony was initiated with lamp lighting and PR song. This song was written by Senior PR practitioner and writer Mr. Manohar Prabhakar from Jaipur. The welcome speech was given by organizing Chairperson and Vice President (East) PRSI Ms. M.S. Mazumdar. On this occasion, PRSI Vice President (North) Mr. V.P. Sharma- Chandigarh Chapter, Ms. Shobha Dhanwate- Nagpur Chapter, B.G. Ghatge- Goa Chapter and Mr. B.D. Sharma- Shimla Chapter also addressed the gathering of PR fraternity.

In this conference, a presentation entitled Heritage Tourism in Rajasthan – An Analysis of Government Initiatives was given jointly by Dr. Sanjay Mishra, HOD, Faculty of Mass Communication, Jagan Nath University and Joint Secretary, PRSI Jaipur Chapter and Ms. Saleha Ghazi, Senior Radio-Television program presenter.

The vote of thanks conveyed by organizing Secretary from Ranchi Chapter Mr. Ravindra Kumar. This session was conducted by Ms. Saleha Ghazi visiting faculty, Mass Communication, Jagan Nath University and member PRSI Jaipur Chapter. Our participation and entry was accepted in the name of Jagan Nath University.

This was a memorable event for us for representing the state at international level. In this presentation, the positive picture of tourism industry in Rajasthan was portrayed with the policy and special efforts done by State Government. During this journey, the different tourist places, historical monuments and cultural centers of Bankok and Pattaya cities were visited. All the delegates/ members appreciated the Law and Order, Public Discipline, Traffic Sense and specially cleanliness at public places of both the cities. I do feel that by organizing such events, the people of two different countries can understand each other and exchange their ideas in a better way.

It was also decided in the meeting of top officials of PRSI that every year, an overseas conference should be conducted by PRSI. In this regard, we (PRSI Jaipur Chapter) got an opportunity to conduct overseas conference next year. It is quite possible that I would be the convener for the same. By the way, we are focusing the SAARC and ASEAN countries for such conferences. We have started work on finalizing core agenda and to find out new opportunities, openings and joint ventures in the interaction with top media/ diplomats of concern country as per mutual convenience.

I convey my best regards to our dynamic leaders, Hon’ble Chairman, Jagan Nath Gupta Education Memorial Society, New Delhi, Mr. Deepak Gupta Sir, Hon'ble Chancellor Mr. Manish Gupta Sir, Advisor, Jagan Nath Group of Institutions Mr. K.N. Mathur and Vice Chancellor, Jagan Nath University, Jaipur Professor V.K. Agarwal for encouraging me for this task.

I am also thankful to Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Columnist, noted Writer and Member Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy, Government of Rajasthan Mr. Radhey Shyam Tiwari and my elder brother Mr. Pradeep Mishra for providing me valuable inputs and guidance.

We would like to arrange an exhibition of photographs of Conference, City Life, Nature, Wild Life and world renowned religious and tourist centers of Bangkok and Pattaya cities at JKK for Thailand Visit with the contribution of our students. And my experience, that would be published in a life style magazine soon.

Thanking you for all the support you have extended me in life.
